it seems so popular how people are downloading tv content now a days, but less
than a day after it airs?, why not just watch it on tv?

i guess what i'm trying to say is, whats your biggest reason for downloading
shows from this site, especially when they aired so recently.

a)no television/tuner.

b)better quality.

c)watch shows on demand/withough ads, possibly if in competting timeslot.

you forgot the biggest one of all

d)i'm not in the us and/or don't/can't get the channel in question.

i wonder how many people will choose d?

d followed by c

the 2:1 content:advert ratio on us networks would drive me nuts if i had to
sit through it all.

well, seeing as how you still have to wait 'till it finished airing to watch it
ad free, some people sit through, simply 'cause they see it sooner.

i would say maybe 80% of the eztv users. this based on the thank you from... and
where are you from threads.

80%?.all releases are in english, you'd think most people are
canada/us/brittian.

studies have been done, and most bittorrent traffic for tv shows is from the uk
and australia because of the 3-12 month delay we can normally expect.

if i could buy a service from the cable company that would allow me to download
and watch shows on my computer (no tv in my house) without any commercial
interruptions whatsoever, i would do so. i would even pay more than they
currently charge for their cable service. money is not an issue for me.

my problem is i can't stand television. watching a show like smallville is
painful at best. 5-8 commercial brakes with the same products pummeled into your
brain every 5-10 minutes with add influenced flashing hip-hop jargon (welcome to
the wb, bitches!) makes me feel like that cartoon frog just walked into my house
and repeatedly punched my brain stem.

i realize the shows need the endorsements but it's just too much. even with tivo
the continuity is broken, the little world i was immersing myself in shatters,
and i have to wait for the show to fast forward.

i choose d and c but that doesnt really explain why i download from this site.

there are a couple of reasons why i come here specifically.

one, because im certain the file i download will be the file i expect, and not
some fake claiming to be eztv. i could go to mini or bt-chat for the same
files from eztv uploader, but here i dont need to sort through public uploads -
everything i want is right there on the front page, along with show info and
news - its a complete tv experience. the torrents are always well seeded too.

secondly, i think the community chatter at eztv is very important for info
about the files and shows. sure, other sites have comments .... but i find
they are more often lame noobs and of little use to anyone ... thats if there
are any comments at all. here people are dedicated to their tv and can be very
picky about the quality of the files, special fx, script etc etc ... so theres
always plenty of info shared ... not to mention that some of the more colourful
characters around here can be quite entertaining too.

lastly, eztv is the only torrent site i have thus far encountered which
considers the anonymity of its users in that it does not require email to sign
up.

i second ven's comments.

d and c apply to me, but there are again more reasons.

1. i got sick to death of getting hooked on a show, then having them (the tv
stations) move it to a ridiculous timeslot. i'd never get to watch my shows,
or i wouldn't know that a new season has returned until a couple of episodes in.

2. i am tired of sitting down to watch one of my shows, only to find that it
is a repeat, or that an episode has been missed, or that they are played out of
order. very f***ing annoying!

3. they don't seem to carry on seasons. eg. to the best of my knowledge, aus
only got up to season 3 or maybe 4 of the dead zone.

4. a much bigger variety of shows. i am getting shows that could be years
away from being aired here, if at all.

5. continuity. many shows have underlying storylines, and it is heaps better
to watch them one after another. (i tend to download at least half a season
before i start watching. burn it to dvd, etc)

the networks seem to be pulling their socks up. they have just started airing
some of the popular shows about a week after it airs in the us. but then they
go and screw it up by putting all the good shows on the same night, at the same
time!! so bugger them, i'm sticking to my d/l's!!

(end of rant for now )

ehem newsflash english is understood, spoken, and written in a lot of other
countries than above.

rofl
rodgerse are you by any chance american? :d maybe if they bothered to teach
something about the world outside us in us schools there would be no need for
threads like #6157 (why all the hate for us americans?)

i live in sweden and 95% of the content on tv here is in english, most times
with swedish subtitles but most of us don't really need them. i think it's the
same way in most european countrys except perhaps germany and spain that i think
dub a lot of the foreign shows.

but to answer your question, d c b.
[#60064] Written by: topoopon [05/10/2007, 06:14]
my reasons:

a) if it's an overseas release (i.e.: life on mars, jekyll, regenesis)
b) if i miss an episode (4 shows on at once, dvr cuts out, forgot to set)
c) early releases (screeners, canadian releases)

lol then i would have to live in america and screw that! you people are nuts.

d) fck american tv, live elsewhere and download it.

hi.i'm 30 years old from turkiye. every civilisation, and culture's shows gives
different tastes to audience. when i watch anime in japanese language with
english subtitles which is very good than dubbled english version. every show
must stay on original language. i hate to watch any foreign show or movie dubbed
in our turkish language. also, we've got several amounts of tv networks which
air in english language with turkish subtitle. i've got four sattellite dishes,
but turkiye is in eastern europe, so out of main broadcast region. however,
today in turkiye, cnbc-e air smallville season 5, battlestar galactica season 3,
er season 11... but i'd like to follow new episodes today without waiting years.
whenever i desire to watch any of my favorite shows in any time, i can watch it
with downloading. i like to watch my shows without any interruption, silly
commercials.i've also bought the complete smallville dvd season's from amazon
every year for watching high quality, and cutting parts of the show. i'm a very
big fan of smallville. i download approximately amount of 200 g.b. tv shows &
movies in a mounth. yeah, all of these're my reasons for downloading.
