i liked this show. i'll miss it, but i've seen better shows
than this cancelled,
so i can't say i'm surprised. i think the networks don't give new shows enough
of a chance before cancelling them.

they put a lot of good new shows in bad time slots. then they move them around
so viewers don't know when they're on and miss them. they also air them
irregularly, or let local stations show something else in their place. and of
course, they don't leave them on for at least one whole season to try to build
up a following.

it's no wonder so many people have cable these days. it offers you more options
to find something halfway decent to watch. even then, it's still hard to find a
good show.

as for uk programming, you don't have to make it into a contest for which
country's programming is "superior". there are still a few good us shows, and
there are good uk shows too. you don't have to choose just one, why not watch
the best of both? my only complaint with uk programming is they consider 6
episodes a whole season. i would prefer at least 22 episodes a season.

the uk has some good shows, though. hustle, primeval, life on mars, jekyll, and
3 lbs. (unfortunately cancelled). and they gave us doctor who. not to mention
all the british comedy shows like monty python, fawlty towers, are you being
served?, good neighbours, keeping up appearances, one foot in the grave, the
goodies, doctor in the house, and so many others.

right now there's a very good show in australia--sea patrol. i've caught 4
episodes of it so far, and i'm hooked. that's one of the best things about
downloading shows, you can watch programming you like, regardless of where it's
from. the best of many worlds.

it's not so much about making it into a contest as it is about me just not
liking uk programming period. no offense to those who do, everyone has their
own opinions.

so to recap.. as far as i'm concerned.. it's no contest.

it's gotten to the stage where i will download these new tv shows that i think i
would like. going by plot summaries and comments by others.
but i refuse to watch them until they are at least given a second season or are
finished off properly at the end of the first season.
going by this i have now already deleted the traveler folder without watching an
episode.
no use getting into a show to have it canceled on you.

threshold (still get people telling me i was crazy for liking this)
the nine
six degrees
daybreak (although at least this was finished - thankfully to webrips)
saved
smith
thief
studio 60
the class
til death
vanished
kidnapped
e-ring

these are only the ones i can think of off the top of my head

and many of these i still haven't had the stomach to finish off watching knowing
that i'll be bitterly disappointed after.
they cancel these kind of shows and fill the schedule with more and more
"reality" crap. #%@$
oh and the ever relenting "crime and/or i see or communicate with dead people"
shows, criminal minds exempt of course.
am i the only one that can't stand bones????
it's just about to start it's 3rd season when so many great shows aren't even
given a chance.
enough already...

not that any of this will change now that i've had my rant so i've wasted 5 mins
of my time and a couple of yours.

superior and uk in the same sentence? sorry.. uk programming, at
least in my
opinion, is not superior to us.

if someone else said this i'm sorry.

but you should have watched jekyll, if you had any taste at all it would change
your mind on that point.

unfortunately its met the same fate as such other shows, "threat
matrix", "the
grid", "over there", and others...

just the wrong timing is most likely the cause....the geopolitical climate,
various foreign affairs issues etc...

just my 1/10 of a cent worth... from a canadian perspective eh?

well i did half expect it, any show that shares cast members with day break is
doomed. i cant belive they did this again to a show i love

from now on i wait until a whole season is broadcast before starting to watch it!

it's because i have credible taste that my statement is absolute.

it was tripe! it was predictable! the acting was atrocious! i did watch the
show, but until i saw this thread, forgot that it had ever existed.
