the scene aren't likely to change their rules in the near future, regardless of
the opinions expressed here. and they follow them fairly rigidly because there's
so much competition amongst the groups and if it doesn't follow the rules it
gets nuked and they don't get credit.
but as has been mentioned, if you don't like the file size there are non-scene
releases about that you'll probably find on public trackers and newsgroups -
though you probably won't find them on many private (or semi-private) trackers
because they prefer scene releases and if they do post a non-scene release it's
often deleted when a scene release comes out.

i asked about the file sizes in the first episode message board, thanks that
really clears it up. i still wish they were a little smaller to cram more onto

there's only going to be 6 eps of this so 6 x 700 = 4.2gb, this will fit on 1 dvd.

time for the "scene" to judge size by bitrate instead of time, most vids are about
1100 kbps for the standard res..
new standards please... you are out of date.
