as usual, syfy would rather have ghost shows and other hogwash than actually decent television. this
station is not even a shadow of what it once was. now there are only what...3 shows (two of which
are actually from canada's showcase network) even worth watching on this station at all.

i don't like it, but the top three reasons for a cancelation or non-renewal:
1) money
2) money
3) money
content (scifi & science) is merely a ruse.
ratings (fan following) are only one aspect of the money (profit) equation.

to me, it seem that smart people download tv eps, and morons watch tv. since alpha's was rating well
with the smart people and not morons the show got cancelled, and the morons get to watch more of the
same fk'n shit that is on tv now.

it sucks, but i think it was inevitable! i loooove sci-fi and this show was something i was looking
forward to...but all good things come to an end, unfortunately!

fuck man you're so right the state of tv is horrendous i haven't got the patience to sift through
all the garbage and ads and like you said ide rather come here and pick and choose quality shows
that are out now shows that for some reason are not shown on tv great comment by the way.

this probably means warehouse 13 is next... i wish someone would knock some sense into these people,
they keep cancelling beloved shows.
have you guys heard of this show called firefly, one of the most loved scifi shows to date, killed by fox
without even getting a full season, now its a bona fide moneymaker, give shows a chance, not a
cancellation.

not too shocking, the show was only so-so and its last season was pretty bad on some counts. (lame chain
wearing villains for example)
add to it the fact that sy-fy have a trend of canceling remotely good science-fiction show ever since they
became sy-fy.
any wagers about how many seasons defiance(syfy's mmorpg-tied upcoming show)
is going to last? though the related mmorpg by trion worlds is going to have a following , without seeing a
pilot of the tv show i'm betting not more than 1 because the show seems to have original sets, costumes
and sfx which is more ambitious than the things they are cancelling now (eureka, alphas)
that said let us hope it will surprise me with some good writing.

there are good new productions like utopia and banshee, just not science fiction related.

projects....bwaaaaahahahahahaha...yeah right
