is there a way to add the date to a torrent using the "label for new torrents"
in the rss feed, like a getdate command?

hrmmm.

interesting.

certainly not directly in utorrent. i can see how something might be nailed
together in azureus using a couple of plugins, but it would be using them in a
manner they were not really intended for and it would be pretty damn
ugly/messy in implementation.

it could be done outside the client too:-
rewriting of the torrent files at the "web level", or rewriting of the torrent
files at the "os level", and the resultant files passed to the client app
after the fact, so to speak. again - ugly/messy.

a lot depends on exactly what you are really trying to achieve:-

do you want to rename the .torrent files ?
do you want to change the displayed torrent content name in the client ?
do you want hierarchical category labels and auto torrent assignment ?

if you simply want to display a list of torrents in your client in order of
date they were downloaded for ease of legibility, then just display the date
added on column in ui options, and select it as your primary sort criteria.

let us know more specifics of what you want the exact end result to be.

when setting up the rss feed in utorrent it asks if you want to add a label to
the torrent. i want the date or the day to make it easier to view files for
seeding. its not renaming the torrent or changing the content name, more of a
way of organising your torrents in utorrent.

yeah - that's more or less what i guessed at.

as i suggested - why not bypass the whole label idea altogether, and just sort
by date added ? it gives a very easily viewable and comprehensible result.

is there a specific reason that wouldn't work for your purposes ?

that would would work fine actually, i'm fairly new to utorrent and completely
missed that option! thanks for the quick replies
