So what is the real cost of a cheap meal? Food has arguably never been more affordable as some stores try to tempt us in with four pints of milk for under a pound and whole chickens for just £2.50. Two thirds of families now say price and convenience are the main factors behind where they choose to shop. But what might be the consequences for us and our country's growers and producers?
